While You’re Praying, God is Preparing

It’s cool to think that while you’re praying, God is working fiercely behind the scenes to work out your situation. But what if the first situation He needs to work out first is…you?

I tend to pray with a specific result in mind: God I need you to help me…I need you to work this out…I need direction here… but I’m finding that a lot of those answers won’t come until I change.

I don’t always know what needs to change right away, but through prayer, I start to see and hear the answer in lots of different places in my life.

Prayer opens our eyes to what’s going on around us, and it opens up our hearts and minds so that we can see what is inside of us that may need to change. Sometimes what needs to change is a habit, an attitude,our perspective, an unwillingness to let go, an unwillingness to move forward, or a desire to rush things. Sometimes it’s something you never realized was getting in the way.

Often, God has to work out whats on the inside, before he works out what I’m praying for on the outside.

Sometimes the things we ask for would be beyond our capacity to handle if we actually got them now, so we have to become a person who is ready to recieve them.

I’m a big believer that if you face new blessings with old habits, you’ll end up doing the same…
