Trying to find your purpose is just another form of procrastination.
It’s a great way to put off doing the work that would actually give you a sense of purpose.
For most of history, people didn’t have time to sit around worrying about their purpose. They were too busy trying to survive. Ironically, more people probably felt like they had a purpose than they do now.
Today, we confuse purpose with notoriety. Instead of purpose, most people just want something to be known for. They’re searching for an impressive achievement to go in their Instagram bio.
We search for a purpose like we’re on some mythological quest for treasure.
But the key to finding a purpose is to stop mythologizing it. Your life doesn’t have one grand purpose. It would suck if you only accomplished one thing in life — no matter how great it was.
Instead, life continually gives you opportunities to find purpose and meaning — if you pay attention.
