The knot in my throat tightens as I stare at the screen. It’s a familiar feeling, almost welcome at this point. Even though I’m ready to hit “publish” on my next article, I hesitate out of fear. I should edit it one more time. What if I said something offensive? What if my entire premise is wrong?
It’s a feeling I’ve come to know intimately as a writer — the fear of not getting it right. If I allowed that fear to guide me, I’d never put anything out into the world. Can you relate?
