How to Get Your First 1000 Medium Followers

It takes about a thousand followers to get traction in the form of regular engagement on Medium. In this post, I’ll show you how to do it.

Yes, you might get lucky and write a post that gets boosted (or goes viral) and gain hundreds of followers. But on average, you won’t get a ton of reader engagement because you don’t have a readership base.

Unfortunately, when most new writers start on this platform, they:

  • Write with no audience in mind
  • Publish sporadically
  • Get few results and quit

But it doesn’t have to be this way. You can build a sizable following on Medium and make some extra cash doing what you love.

Will it happen quickly? I don’t know. Maybe, or it make take you a while. Will you become a better writer in the process? Without a doubt.
