Unfollow Culture Will Destroy America
I’ve been part of the problem
“We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory will swell when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature.” — Abraham Lincoln
If things continue as they are, America will not survive.
As I was scrolling through my Instagram the other day, I came across a post that made me pause.
It was a piece by a popular Christian creative whose art makes you think harder about your beliefs and assumptions. This artist has tens of thousands of followers, representing different views on politics and faith.
This particular post turned out to be divisive because the Christian artist was celebrating Pride Month and people who had embraced their LGBTQ identity.
I’ll admit that I got sucked into the black hole of the comments. I wasn’t surprised to see everything from “You’re so awesome! Thank you for being like Jesus.” to simply “Really? Unfollowing.” But there was very little attempt to understand the artist’s views.
It’s black or white.
