When most of us picture the American Revolutionary War, we picture paintings of George Washington crossing the Delaware or the surrender at Yorktown. That makes sense.
The American Revolution lasted from 1775–1783. Photography didn’t become publicly available until the 1830s when Louie Daguerre perfected the daguerreotype. Luckily, the form of photography took off quickly and created a new way to capture history.
