3 Crucial Warnings Evangelicals Should Take From Star Wars

Or suffer the same fate as the Jedi.

I realize this is dangerous territory.

On one hand, I’m using a non-religious story to inform a religion. On the other hand, I’m using a science fiction story that many have turned into a religion as a warning. So what’s the worst that could happen?

Stories–both true and fiction–are powerful because they teach us how to live. They give us a framework for understanding the world and how to act in it. And they serve as both guides and warnings in life.

You don’t need to be a Star Wars superfan to understand what I’m talking about. I’m not taking deep dive into the Star Wars universe here. I’ll provide a brief explanation of any backstory you need.

I’m looking at similarities between the fall of the Jedi and the current state of American Evangelism.

As someone who grew up in and also worked in the Evangelical world, I have an insider’s look. I can tell you this, it’s not all that the media makes it out to be. Not every Evangelical is a raging Trump supporter, handles snakes, or is anti-gay. There are many different factions, as there are within any subculture.
